Ebike batteries lose calendar life faster in winter than in summer — but not for the reason you'd think. It's not cold damage, it's the combination of full-charge storage + temperature cycling. Store correctly and you can literally double your pack's usable life.

The correct protocol

- Store at 10-20°C. A heated room, utility cupboard, or inside the house. Unheated garage/shed in a UK winter is fine if it stays above 0°C; below freezing, bring indoors.
- Dry, moderate humidity. Not on concrete floors (damp rises). On a shelf, ideally in original packaging.
