Editorial policy
Fix My Ebike is built around one idea: help ebike owners fix problems faster, without selling them gear they don't need.
How pages should behave
- Troubleshooting pages identify the most likely failure cause first, then work outward in frequency order.
- Decision pages (best ebike for commuting, best for cargo, etc.) help readers choose between scenario-matched options, not rank every product.
- Product pages stay curated. We don't publish review pages on products we wouldn't recommend to a real owner in the scenario described.
Recommendation rules
- Smallest useful fix first. If re-seating a connector fixes 80% of motor cut-out problems, we recommend that — not a new controller.
- Scenario-matched picks. The "best ebike for a daily commuter" is a different product than "best for cargo hauls." We say which scenario we're answering.
- Honest watch-outs. Every product pick includes a plain statement of what it's not good for.
- No pay-to-play. A product doesn't appear because a manufacturer asked. Recommendations come from what we'd tell a fellow rider with the same problem.
Affiliate relationship
Some pages include affiliate links. When they do, the recommendation is explained in plain language and tied to the problem the page is solving. The affiliate link doesn't change the recommendation; the recommendation determines whether there's an affiliate link at all.
